Extra Fees for Weddings Outside San José

 

If you're considering a wedding location outside San José, please be aware that additional fees apply based on the distance from the city. These fees cover transportation and logistical arrangements to ensure your special day goes smoothly. Here are the fee details:

• Weddings held over 50 km from San José: An additional fee of $100 applies.

• Weddings held over 100 km from San José: An additional fee of $150 applies.

• Weddings officiated over 150 km from San José: An additional fee of $200 applies.

• Weddings officiated over 200 km from San José: An additional fee of $250 applies.

Extra Fee for International Wedding Certificate

For weddings that need to have legal effects in another country, there is an extra fee of $350. This fee covers the process of authenticating the marriage certificate through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Costa Rica, translating the document through an official translator, and subsequently sending it to your country of residence.
